Nomination : Jordan King (Board Member)

Hello,

My name is Jordan King, and I am writing to present my qualifications and goals to be considered for an AORN Board of Directors position. I have been an operating room nurse for the past four years and recently graduated with my Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Education from Capella University. Along with graduating, I have accepted a position at Forbes Hospital as the PeriOperative Educator. This past year I have also served as a co-chair for the Education Committee for our AORN Chapter.

I have always acted in the memberships best interest by relaying pertinent information to the current board, selecting vendors and locations for our meeting based on member/staff feedback and requests, and maintained a functioning relationship with the Education Chair to plan and advertise our meetings for the chapter year in a timely manner. I would love to continue to push myself within this membership in a higher role formulating annual goals and objectives and fostering the growth and development of this chapter, whether that be as board member or future Chair of Education.

I have truly enjoyed my experiences so far and learned so much along the way collaborating with other perioperative nurses in this membership and hope to continue to do so!

Thank you.

Jordan King, MSN RN

Nomination: Brandi R. Weinzierl (Treasurer)

Dear Colleagues,
I am writing today to express my interest in serving AORN Chapter 3902 as Treasurer. I am passionate about promoting and improving perioperative practice and there is no better way to do so than through involvement in AORN. I have been a member of the Chapter since January of 2021 when I began my perioperative nursing career at West Penn Hospital. In 2022, I joined the membership committee and have thoroughly enjoyed the increased engagement with the Chapter. Most recently, I lead the membership committee in the planning and implementation of a causal networking event. Taking an even more active role within the Chapter is something I am sincerely enthusiastic about.
So far in my perioperative nursing career, I have served as a leader in many ways. From mentoring newer perioperative nurses to serving as a clinical coordinator, I am constantly aspiring to improve personally and support the professional development of others. Just a few weeks ago, I moved into the role of Nursing Professional Development Practitioner for Perioperative Services at West Penn Hospital. I feel that I have found my calling in this leadership role, which allows me to capitalize on my strong communication, collaboration, and planning skills. I believe that this same skillset will enable me to succeed in the role of Treasurer despite my limited experience in financial affairs. The opportunity to learn more about these concepts and their application is an exciting prospect to me. In addition to serving the Chapter, the development of increased financial competence would be valuable to my professional career as I continue to grow and take on additional leadership responsibilities. In addition to my love of building new skills, I genuinely enjoy the process of planning and facilitating events. I hope to inject this passion into the role of Treasurer by actively engaging in fundraising efforts for the chapter.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to participating in the elections process and, if elected, serving as your Treasurer.
